I'm putting together my first PC and would appreciate any feedback on my build! Here are the specs:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 7800x3d
- CPU Cooler: Thermalright 120SE (not sure if it's still good, might change)
- Motherboard: MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk Max AM5
- RAM: 16GB DDR5 6000 CL30
- Storage: Crucial 1TB NVMe SSD
- GPU: RX 9070XT
- Case: Still undecided, but I want one with good airflow
- Power Supply: Corsair RM650e 650W (should be enough wattage, right?)
I've never built a PC before; I usually just bought gaming laptops. I've gathered all this info from YouTube and other resources. Any advice or suggestions on improvements would be great!

Just a heads up, if you're only getting one stick of RAM, that might not be the best choice. I strongly recommend against it because 16GB is really becoming the standard, and you might want to upgrade later on. AM5 can be finicky with four sticks too, so avoid going with 8x2. Better to invest in solid 2x16GB now!
You might want to consider swapping out the power supply for a Montech Century II 850W. It’s an upgrade that could future-proof your setup a bit. And definitely go for a 2x16GB CL30 6000 RAM setup instead of just one stick. Trust me, it makes a big difference! By the way, your CPU cooler is one of the best air coolers on the market right now—stick with it!
Thanks for the suggestions! I was a bit unsure about the cooler since it was cheaper, but I’ve heard good things. I'll definitely look into the RAM upgrade.

I was kind of thinking the same thing! I’ll make the jump to 32GB eventually. Just trying to wait for prices to drop a bit.
