SATA SSDs Missing in BIOS and Disk Management After RAID Setup

I recently upgraded my computer but reused my old drives. My Windows installation is on an M.2 drive, which is working fine. I had a SATA SSD that I used for game storage, and I added another SATA SSD that had never been used before. Initially, I think the drives were detected in BIOS, but after enabling RAID for the two drives, they completely vanished. Now, in BIOS, they show as not present in the data ports, and they don't show up in Disk Management either. I've tried switching back to AHCI and unplugging/replugging the drives, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

You might want to keep RAID disabled for your setup since it's just two drives, which can complicate things. Switch back to AHCI, and then check using the command prompt. Run 'diskpart' followed by 'list disk' to see if the drives appear there. If they do, you can clean and format them from there. It's simpler using Disk Management, but sometimes it doesn't work if the drives aren't recognized properly. Also, please check your motherboard manual to ensure you're not disabling any SATA ports when the M.2 is installed.

I had a similar issue once. Make sure that the SATA ports are enabled in your BIOS settings, especially after changing from RAID to AHCI. If they’re still not showing up at all, it might be worth double-checking your cables and ports to make sure everything is physically connected properly. Sometimes reseating the drives can help too.
