iPhone Locked to Owner – Need Help Unlocking

I recently got myself an iPhone 15 Pro Max, but it seems to be locked to the original owner. I was trying to activate the Find My AirPods feature when I accidentally enabled Find My iPhone, which resulted in the phone getting locked. I attempted to unlock it using my Apple ID and password, but it says the password is incorrect. I also tried the 'forgot password' option, but it informs me that the email is incorrect. I reached out to Apple Support with my proof of purchase, but they rejected my request to unlock the device. Is there any way to resolve this issue? I would really appreciate any assistance.

Have you checked where you bought the phone? If it was from an Apple Store, consider going there with your receipt. Sometimes they might need to verify the purchase in person. Could you also clarify if you bought it new or used? That might matter when trying to get support.

I bought it brand new and I’ve used it for about a year. I purchased it in Dubai but currently, I'm in Nepal.
