Is 1TB Enough for My Gaming Setup?

I'm currently using an M3 MacBook Air for art and editing, and I also have a PS5 with a 4TB external SSD for my games. Since I mostly play physical games on my PS5 and do light gaming on my Mac, I'm wondering if a 1TB SSD would suffice for my PC gaming needs. I don't plan on participating in competitive gaming and will only use my PC for gaming and streaming. Many people seem to recommend at least a 2TB SSD, but that seems like overkill for my use. Given my current setup, do you think 1TB will be enough for my needs?

Yes, a 1TB SSD should work fine for you! As long as you're not trying to install a ton of massive games at once, it should be sufficient. Just keep in mind that games vary in size; if you mostly play lighter titles or are okay with uninstalling games when you're done, it should serve you well for now.

While 1TB might not let you have an extensive library, it should definitely handle your OS and a few games without too much hassle. You can always uninstall games you aren't playing to free up space. Ultimately, it’s about whether you think you can live with that amount of storage.

If you want a more extensive collection, I’d recommend at least 2TB with how big some games are getting now, typically around 100-150GB each. Just something to think about for the future!

For now, yes! Just keep in mind you might have to manage your game library a bit if you want to keep everything up to date.

It really depends on the types of games you'll want to install. If you're aiming for around 8 games that might need 150GB each, then 1TB could fill up pretty quickly. However, if you stick to less demanding games like Fortnite or Minecraft, you should be good without any issues. Just consider how often you might be switching games out and whether that works for you.
