I'm considering buying an 8GB 9060 XT for $270, but I've heard it's not as good as the 16GB versions, which are priced around $370-400. Do you think it's a fair deal? Also, I'd love to hear opinions on its performance at 1440p.

I can't recommend an 8GB card, but if you do go for one, this one is the best option at that price. Still, you're better off saving up for a 16GB version. The difference in performance is significant, and you'll regret it when you hit those limits. Plus, resale value will be way better for the 16GB. If you're thinking about a 1440p monitor, just skip the 8GB model altogether. Check out the video I linked for more context on performance expectations!
Honestly, I wouldn't spend $270 on an 8GB card in 2025. It’s likely to become obsolete pretty fast, and you'll just end up shelling out more money for a 16GB card later. For 1440p, it's even worse. The 8GB option is really falling behind, and it will struggle with new titles.
I'm using an 8GB 4060 for gaming, and it works fine for me. Not everyone needs max settings or 120fps, and sometimes the extra VRAM just isn't necessary for all games.
