Is 32GB of RAM Enough for Gaming and Future-Proofing?

I'm in the process of building a new PC and trying to figure out whether I should go for 32GB or 64GB of RAM. I've noticed that some AAA games are starting to recommend 32GB on Steam, and while I don't do any serious 3D modeling or video editing, I often have multiple Chrome tabs and chat applications running in the background. This makes me wonder if 32GB will be sufficient for the next 5 years. What do you all think? Any advice would be appreciated!

It's not a great time to buy RAM with prices so high right now. If you're looking to save money, 32GB is a solid choice, and when prices drop in the future, you can always add more if needed.

32GB is definitely enough for gaming nowadays. I think future-proofing is a bit overrated unless you're running super demanding applications. I'd suggest saving the cash for now; you'll have no issues for at least a few years. But remember, upgrading is always an option if you see a real need down the line!

Good point! I appreciate the reassurance. I'm leaning towards 32GB for now.

Totally agree, it makes much more sense to wait and see how things develop.

I think 32GB should be plenty for most games right now. I've been playing Apex Legends and a few other titles with 16GB, and it worked fine for me. If you're primarily gaming and multitasking with chat apps, you should be good!

Honestly, 32GB is probably sufficient for your needs. Plus, upgrading RAM later is usually straightforward. Right now, the prices for 64GB kits are outrageous, so it makes more sense to stick with 32GB unless you're doing some heavy professional work.
