Is 48GB RAM Enough for 4K Video Editing and Blender? Should I Upgrade to 64GB?

I'm considering upgrading my RAM for 4K video editing and using Blender. I currently have 32GB on my previous setup and managed for lighter tasks, but I want to know if 48GB would be sufficient or if it's worth spending extra for 64GB. Has anyone experienced video editing and 3D rendering with these configurations?

I've managed fine with 32GB for 4K editing, but there are times I wish I had more. If you’re doing intense video editing with lots of layers, consider 64GB to future-proof your setup!

If you can afford it, I'd recommend going for 64GB. It'll give you room to breathe while working on larger projects, especially when editing 4K video. Plus, make sure to opt for a 2x32 setup for better performance.

Your RAM needs really depend on what you're doing. For lighter tasks, 48GB could be enough, but if you're going big with effects and complex scenes, 64GB is probably the safer bet to avoid bottlenecks.

RAM prices aren't too crazy right now, so I wouldn't hesitate. You may regret skimping out later, especially when it's so easy to just get 64GB and avoid potential upgrades down the line.

Definitely lean towards 64GB. Plus, DDR5 setups are better with fewer sticks, so you'd want to go with two 32GB sticks for stability and speed. In a few years, you'll appreciate the extra RAM.
