Is $500 a Good Price for a Used RTX 3080 Gaming PC?

My friend just upgraded his setup and offered me his old gaming PC for $500. Here's what it includes: a Ryzen 7 3700X processor, EVGA FTW3 RTX 3080 graphics card, Asus TUF Gaming X570 AM4 motherboard, 32 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, and a 1 TB Samsung Evo NVME SSD. The graphics card is just under 3 years old, but the rest of the parts are around 5 years old. I'm trying to transition from console gaming to PC and my budget is strictly $500. Do you think this deal is fair?

It's definitely a good price! You could resell the other parts later if you wanted to upgrade. The whole package is a solid investment, even if the CPU is older.

True, I think you’ll get plenty of gaming time out of it before needing any upgrades.

Just buy it! If not, I'm swooping in. Where I am, 3080s start around $350 on the resale market. For $500, the rest practically comes free!

For sure, that's a great price! The 3080 is still a top-end card, and the rest of the components are decent too. You'll be gaming on high settings for a while!

Totally agree! Plus, you can always upgrade the CPU later if needed.

Don’t hesitate, that’s more than fair. It’s better than many new cards out there, and it should last you a few years with decent performance!

Exactly! You won't find a better deal for that kind of power.

Honestly, $500 for the entire build is a steal! The RTX 3080 alone is worth about $400 to $500, so you're basically getting the rest of the system for free if everything's in good shape. Definitely a good deal!

Glad to hear that! Sounds like a solid setup.
