I found a seller offering an MSI X670E Carbon motherboard along with Corsair Vengeance 6400MHz RAM (2x16GB) for $500 CAD. The products are reportedly unopened and come with a warranty. I'm wondering if this is a good deal or if I should consider buying everything new instead, even if it costs a bit more with a B650 or B850 board. Are the advantages of the X670 worth it? I'm looking for some advice!

Be cautious, though! Given current RAM prices, there's a chance this might be a scam. Ideally, you want RAM rated around 6000MHz CL30 for the best performance. The X670E motherboard is mainly useful if you absolutely need a PCIe Gen 5 slot, and even then, the performance boost is pretty minimal. For most users, a B650 or B850 will be more than sufficient!
I met up with the seller and everything looks good—sealed and all! If I stick with the 6400MHz RAM, is it going to be a problem? Should I consider selling it for a 6000MHz set instead, or will this work just fine?
That sounds like a solid deal to me! If everything is unopened and comes with a warranty, you can't go wrong. Just make sure you're comfortable with used items in general.

I'm actually planning to check out the setup in person soon. If it's legit, do you think the 6400MHz RAM might cause issues? I've heard some talk about instability but I'm pairing it with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Think that would help?
