I'm planning to build a new high-end gaming PC and currently have 32GB of RAM, which I won't be using because it's not the best in terms of speed and latency. Since I won't be upgrading for at least five years, I'm considering going for 64GB instead of just sticking with 32GB. Do you think 64GB is overkill for gaming, or would it be a smart investment considering future games? What do you all think?

Honestly, 32GB should be fine for gaming for the next few years. But if you're okay spending more money, the 64GB won't hurt, just don't expect a huge performance boost. It's more about being future-proof, I guess!
Do you really need 64GB? Most games aren't even using 16GB yet, let alone 32GB. But if you're going for that extra future-proofing, just know that going with lower speeds might happen unless you opt for Intel CPUs.
That’s the thing with spec requirements. Sometimes, even recommended specs can surprise you!
If money isn't an issue, I'd say go for the 64GB now. There are a few games that use more than 32GB currently, and that number is likely to grow. Just keep in mind, DDR5 RAM doesn't handle four modules well, so future upgrades might mean replacing the existing sticks altogether.

Actually, some games are starting to push those limits, like Hogwarts Legacy and others. You never know what future titles could demand!
