Is $650 a reasonable price for a used RTX 4070 TI Super?

I'm considering purchasing a used RTX 4070 TI Super for around $650. Given that I have a 4K monitor but can't afford a high-end 4K graphics card, would I be better off buying this used card or spending a bit less for a brand new 5070 (non-TI)? I'm planning to mostly use DLSS upscaling. What do you all think?

That $650 offer is actually solid right now. I've seen used 4070 TI Supers listed for $800 or more. I have one myself, and it's a fantastic card that handles 4K and even ray tracing quite nicely—just remember that for 4K, you'll have to make some adjustments. You might not need that new 5070 after all!

True! Plus the 16GB of VRAM on the 4070 TI Super beats the 12GB on the 5070, so you’d have better longevity with the older card.

Yeah, and if you're smart about your purchases, used can be safer in terms of testing capabilities.

I think you can confidently go for that 4070 TI Super at that price. It’s a great card for 4K gaming, especially with DLSS, and you’re going to have a hard time finding something as good for the same cash. Just make sure it hasn’t been heavily used in mining or anything.

Yeah, always a risk when buying used, but if it's local, you might have a better shot at checking it out beforehand.

Agreed, just do your homework on the seller. You never really know with used GPUs.

Honestly, there's really no such thing as a good GPU price these days. It's wild that $650 is even on the table for any graphics card. I mean, five years ago, you could get a high-end GPU for that price easily.

Every generation seems to raise the bar—no wonder prices are soaring.

Exactly, I remember when Titan cards were going for around a grand! Things have changed a lot.

I'd say $650 is a pretty good deal! I got my RTX 4070 TI Super for about $900 after taxes, and it's still doing great. Given that these cards are still strong, you might be making a wise choice here if you're looking for 4K performance without breaking the bank.

Yeah, right? It's still fairly recent tech and performs well. Definitely worth considering.

Can’t believe how much I paid for mine during launch—prices have come down a lot since!

It's a decent price, but it really depends on the card's history. If it's been in a mining rig, you might want to reconsider. I’d be careful with buying used cards since you never know how they've been treated.

SeriousBuyer88 -

Definitely. If you've bought used before, you know it's a gamble.

Exactly! Always do a little detective work before you hand over your cash.
