Hey everyone! I recently set up my new gaming laptop by installing Windows 11 myself and updating it with available drivers from Lenovo's site. I've only downloaded a few essential programs like Chrome and Discord, but I'm surprised to see that I'm already using 77GB of storage. Is this amount of space being consumed by the OS and drivers considered normal?

That does sound a bit high for just the OS and a couple of apps. Have you tried running Windows Disk Cleanup? Sometimes, Windows Update can leave behind temporary files that take up space. Also, using tools like WizTree or TreeSize can help you see which folders are hogging storage. It might give you a clearer picture of what's going on!

It's pretty typical for newer laptops to have some bloatware alongside Windows. Nowadays, starting with 77GB used isn't too shocking. If you find space is tight, consider getting a 1TB SSD—prices have dropped significantly, and upgrading isn't usually too complicated!

Yeah, it sounds right to me! Windows itself can take up around 66GB, and add a few apps, it can add up quickly. With Windows 10 a few years ago being around 30GB, newer features and updates in Windows 11 definitely increase space usage. Most new laptops generally come with 512GB or 1TB drives to accommodate this.
