I'm looking to upgrade my CPU, but due to a recent disability, it's really tough for me to do it myself. I built my PC eight years ago and have been upgrading it bit by bit since then. I got a quote for $80 to have someone change out my CPU for me. Does that seem high to you, or is it a normal price? It's a bit out of my budget, especially when I add in the cost of the CPU itself, but I'm considering it. Thanks for your thoughts!

If you really can't find someone to help, maybe pay for it, but there are better options out there. I had my entire PC built for a pizza and a beer! Just some friendly help could go a long way. Look around and see if anyone's available to lend a hand!
If you’ve got someone coming to you, that might justify the cost a bit. But if this is just an average Joe, I wouldn't hesitate to suggest $25 sounds more realistic for that job. Good luck!
Honestly, $80 seems a bit steep for what’s basically a 15-minute job if you're just swapping CPUs. If you can, maybe ask a friend for help—that way you can save some cash!
It really depends on the service. If they're coming to your house, a bit higher price might be justified. But if it's just a random guy, $80 feels like a rip-off to me. I recently paid $100 for a full system upgrade, which included a lot more parts than just a CPU. Ask about warranties or guarantees too!
Honestly, unless there's a water cooling setup involved that they need to drain, $80 is kind of a rip-off. If you've got the basic tools, you might want to try it yourself—YouTube can be a great teacher! But totally understand if you can’t manage it right now.
Yeah, I get that, but OP mentioned they’re physically unable to do it, which makes it tough.
