Is 82°C Normal for My Ryzen 5 7500F During Gaming?

I recently got a Ryzen 5 7500F paired with a DeepCool AG500 Digital cooler. While gaming, particularly in The Last of Us Part II, I've noticed that the CPU temperature spikes up to about 82°C during certain scenes, while in others, it drops down to around 60°C. The game runs perfectly with no lag or issues. My room temperature ranges from 25°C to 31°C. Is this temperature fluctuation normal for this CPU? Should I be concerned about long-term effects?

Honestly, the only strange part is your room hitting 31°C 😂. Aside from that, the temps you’re seeing are typical for a gaming rig.

Lol, true! That heat can definitely make a difference.

Most CPUs, including yours, are built to handle up to 90°C before they start to throttle. If your thermal paste is a few years old, consider refreshing it, as it can dry out over time.

But running at 82°C during gameplay is still safe!

Yeah, anything under 90°C is totally fine. You're not in any danger at all with those numbers. Just make sure your cooler is up to snuff, and you’ll be fine!

That sounds pretty normal to me! Many CPUs can spike up like that, especially during heavy gaming.

Right? It’s only going to throttle if it hits around 90°C, so you're good!

As long as you keep it below 90°C, you’re in the clear! Those CPU temperatures are normal. It doesn't look like you'll notice any performance drops running at 82°C, so no real worries there. Just keep an eye on it during intense sessions!
