Is 85 Degrees Too Hot for My CPU While Browsing?

Hey everyone! I'm curious if it's normal for my Ryzen 7 9800 X3D CPU to run at around 85 degrees Celsius while I'm just browsing Chrome. It's really hot outside right now, around 40 degrees Celsius, and I've noticed it's hitting up to 94 degrees when I play games. Should I be worried about these temperatures? Also, is there any specific fan control software I should be using, because right now I only have the MSI Control Center.

That temperature is definitely too high for idle or light use! What kind of CPU cooler are you using? You might want to look into that as it could be the issue.

What do your CPU temps usually look like when it's cooler outside? You've got to consider indoor temperature too, especially with it being 40 degrees outside. If your GPU is sitting at 37, your CPU shouldn't be that much hotter indoors unless something's wrong. Make sure your system is still under warranty since it's a prebuilt, just in case!

Nah, 85°C at low load is not typical. Are you sure the plastic cover was removed from the CPU when it was installed? If it's a prebuilt, that might be worth checking out.

I have no clue, it's a prebuilt system. How do I check if that cover is still on? My GPU seems fine at 37 degrees.
