Is 85°C Too High for My CPU Under Load?

Hey everyone, I just built my first PC featuring an Intel Core Ultra 7 265k. During a Cinebench R24 multicore stress test, I noticed my CPU temperature peaked at 85°C. When I'm not doing much (with CPU usage between 3-15%), the temperature sits around 37-41°C. Is this temperature range normal or acceptable for this CPU? Here are my specs for reference: CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 265k, GPU: Gigabyte Gaming Nvidia RTX 5070ti OC, RAM: G Skill 64GB DDR5 6000 CL30, Motherboard: MSI Z890 Gaming Plus WiFi, PSU: be quiet! Pure Power 12M 1000W 80+ Gold, Case: Antec C5 ARGB, Cooler: Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120. I'm planning to use this system mainly for Da Vinci Resolve color grading and 4K editing, along with some light 3D modeling and animation.

I've got a 285k with a Noctua NH-D15 cooler, and I'd say 85°C is actually pretty normal under heavy stress like that. My CPU can get up to 105°C while running BOINC, but it usually stays in the 60s-70s range during normal use. You're in good shape; nothing to stress about!

You didn't mention which cooler you're using! If it's not a proper CPU cooler, it's impressive! But I see you have the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120. That should help manage temps pretty well. 85°C is pretty common under heavy load, so I wouldn’t worry too much unless you start hitting higher numbers. The thermal limit for your CPU is 105°C, so you’re still in a safe zone when pushing it hard.
