Is 90 Degrees Normal for a Ryzen 5 5600X?

Hey everyone, I recently upgraded to a Ryzen 5 5600X and used the stock cooler that came with it. When I'm just browsing YouTube or listening to music, the temperature sits around 50-60 degrees Celsius. However, while playing Wuwa, it sometimes spikes up to 95 degrees, usually staying above 85 degrees. I'm wondering if this temperature is normal, if the cooler is to blame, or if there might be another issue. Any advice would be really appreciated!

Yeah, that's definitely on the hotter side for a CPU. While the stock cooler can prevent thermal throttling, it's pushing the limits under load. Ideally, you want it to be under 80°C for more comfortable operation and longevity.

But does it really reach thermal limits? I thought the specs allowed for up to 95°C.

The stock cooler is pretty basic and can definitely lead to high temperatures like that. When I had my 5600G with the stock cooler, I faced similar issues, especially on warm days. A good aftermarket cooler made a huge difference for me—now I rarely see temps over 70°C, usually staying below 65°C. I recommend looking into affordable options like the DeepCool AG200 or spending a bit more on something like the Thermaltake UX400 for better airflow and quieter performance.
