Hey everyone! My friend is selling his gaming PC because he's switching to a Mac for work. The setup includes a Ryzen 5900X processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, along with 32GB of DDR4 RAM. It also comes with a 4K monitor, keyboard, and mouse. He's offering it to me for $900. I'm primarily looking to use it for gaming and some Blender work. Do you think this is a good deal, or should I consider building my own PC with an AM5 setup instead?

Honestly, for that setup, I think $900 is pretty reasonable. If you were to build something similar right now, especially given the current RAM prices, you'd end up spending more. Plus, getting the monitor and peripherals included really sweetens the deal.
The deal sounds alright at first glance, but keep in mind these components are about five years old. While it's tough to find AM5 for this price, you could potentially get an AM4 setup that's new for similar money if you look around.
I agree with others here. It's a fair price for the specs, especially if the monitor is decent. Just remember that the GPU and CPU are a bit older, but they should still deliver solid performance for gaming and your Blender projects.
You've got a decent setup, but it really comes down to the monitor's quality. If it's a solid 4K display, I don't see why you shouldn't go for it. Plus, if you decide to upgrade later, you could always sell the 3080 and get a newer GPU.
