Is a 1000W PSU Enough for a 5090 GPU?

I'm considering upgrading to a 5090 GPU in August and currently have a solid setup with a 4070 Ti. I spotted a rent-to-own option on Amazon for a 32 GB 5090 from MSI and I'm curious if my current PSU, which is a 1000W gold from Skytech, will be sufficient for this upgrade since I bought it in 2024.

It sounds like you’re on the right track! A 5090 can consume around 600W, so a 1000W PSU is pretty much the bare minimum you should be looking at if you want to avoid issues. Just make sure your PSU is a reputable brand, and you should be good to go!

That’s what I was thinking! Just wanted to double-check before making the jump.
