Is a $150 deal on an I9 9900K, 16GB RAM, and motherboard worth the risk?

I found a local deal for an I9 9900K, 16GB of RAM, and a motherboard for $150, but the seller claims it's "untested." I'm unsure if I should take the plunge, especially since I can't test it myself. What do you all think?

If it all works, you're getting a sweet deal. Just the RAM alone is worth around $150 new. But if the motherboard's the issue, that's where the risk lies.

Great price, but untested parts can be a red flag. If you can, ask the seller how it's been used. If he seems legitimate and says it was working fine before, it might be worth it. Just be cautious!

If you're planning to keep it for yourself, remember that the 9900K is getting older. You might want to think about flipping the parts instead of using them for a setup. You could easily make $250-$325 if parted out.

Consider asking the seller for their original invoices. If everything happens to be dead, at least you can RMA the RAM since it usually has a lifetime warranty. It’s a low-risk buy overall.

While it's a fantastic price, buying untested gear is a gamble. If it works, you could flip the 9900K and motherboard individually for a solid profit. Make sure to consider the risks though.
