Hey everyone! I just bought a Gigabyte Gaming OC 5070 Ti for 840 GBP, but I found a PNY OC version for just 680 GBP. Since I haven't built my PC yet (that'll happen tomorrow), I'm wondering if it's worth switching to the PNY and saving some cash. From what I've researched, while the Gigabyte has a bit more overclocking potential, it doesn't seem significantly better. Also, the Gigabyte has an extra year of warranty (4 years vs. 3), and it's larger, which I've heard could be better for cooling. I'm not an expert in this stuff since it's my first build, so I'd really appreciate any advice! Should I stick with the Gigabyte or go for the PNY?

Check out JayZTwoCents' video on this! He talks about how paying more for extra overclocking isn’t really worth it since you won’t notice the difference in most settings. Stick with the cheaper option if the specs are close!
LOL! I was about to post that video too. It explains things well!
I wouldn’t recommend paying more than $50 extra, let alone $200. Considering how the dollar compares, those extra dollars could go toward a GTX 5080, which is a better investment. Plus, if you’re in the UK, the PNY is a steal compared to MSRP!
True, the currency variation makes it tricky. I noticed similar pricing trends with the 5080s being much pricier.
If noise is your main concern, definitely check reviews for both. I recently upgraded to a larger card, and the silence is night and day. My older, smaller card was noisy and so bothersome that I switched!
Yeah, the sizes do seem to lean in Gigabyte's favor for heat management. Curious how that plays out in practice.
Honestly, the performance difference between these brands is minimal, especially noise and temperature-wise. If cooling and silence are your priorities, the PNY should work just fine. I’ve had good experiences with it, and it runs quietly and cool.
Gotcha! I value cooling and silence a lot too; I've had loud cards in the past. Just wondered if Gigabyte had a major edge, but maybe it's just selection bias.
Thanks for mentioning that! My PNY is the OC version but without ARGB, which complicates things a bit. There's just so many variations!
