I'm using a 400W platinum power supply, and I'm trying to figure out if it can handle my Intel i7 7700K and GTX 1060 graphics card. Is that a sufficient wattage for these components?

Yes, a 400W power supply can generally handle an i7 7700K paired with a GTX 1060, as long as it's from a reputable brand. However, the quality of the PSU matters a lot. If it's from a less known brand, you might want to reconsider because some of those can be unreliable or unsafe. Stick to trusted brands like Corsair or EVGA.

Definitely agree, brand matters! If your PSU is from HP, just make sure it’s in good condition since OEM power supplies can vary quite a bit in quality.

As mentioned, if your PSU is a quality unit, you should be fine. Just keep an eye on temps and performance. If you notice instability during heavy gaming, it might be worth upgrading even if the wattage seems sufficient.

While 400W can work, it's pushing it, especially under load. If you plan on overclocking or running intensive tasks, having a little bit more headroom with a higher wattage PSU would be wise.
