I'm planning to upgrade my PC soon and I'm curious whether pairing a 4060 GPU with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU is a good idea. I intend to upgrade my GPU later, possibly within a year, but for now, I'm wondering if this combination is adequate and if it could harm my system in any way.

The 7800X3D can handle a more powerful GPU than the 4060, but if you're just using the 4060 as a temporary solution, that's totally fine. Replacing a GPU is way easier than swapping out a CPU. Also, 'bottlenecking' your CPU won't physically damage your PC; you just won't be maximizing its potential for now. Just make sure your components are well connected and avoid overheating issues.
Any setup with those parts should work great! I'm not sure why you'd think it might damage your PC.
I wasn't assuming anything—I just wanted to check if there were any risks involved.
Yeah, it's perfectly fine.

That leads me to a side question: do you think a 650W power supply is enough for now? I'm planning to upgrade to an 850W once I get the new GPU.
