I'm building a new computer and need some advice. I've got an RX 6600 graphics card, a Ryzen 5 5500 processor, and a B550 matx motherboard. My old PC has a 500W PSU, which I was hoping to reuse. I've tried some power supply calculators online, and most of them say that my build would require less than 500W. However, one calculator suggested a minimum of 550W. I also have three SSDs, 16GB of RAM, and two fans (with a possible third) in the setup. I doubt the mic, webcam, or small USB speakers will significantly impact power usage. I'm unsure if these calculators account for CPU and GPU coolers or if I'll be gaming with this setup. Any insights? Thanks for the help!

I've got a build running a 6600 with a Ryzen 5 5600X and an unknown brand 500W PSU, and I've had no issues so far!
A 500W power supply is plenty for your build. Just avoid getting a low-quality PSU to ensure everything runs smoothly.
You should definitely check what PCPartPicker says. Generally, I recommend adding about 100 to 150W as headroom for stability, especially if you're thinking about future upgrades.
Just so you know, the Ryzen 5 5500 isn't actually part of the true 5000 series, and its gaming performance is similar to the Ryzen 5 3600. But don’t worry, 500W will still be enough for your setup.
In reality, the power draw for your components should be under 200W, so a 500W PSU is more than enough. Just make sure it's a reliable brand; you wouldn't want an aging or cheap PSU causing issues for your new parts.
