I'm curious if pairing a Ryzen 5 5600X with a Radeon 6650 XT will still be effective for gaming at 1080p in 2026. Will this setup handle modern games well, or should I expect to adjust graphics settings?

You'll be fine! I had a 5600X with a 3060 Ti for 1440p at 165fps (medium/high) just 18 months ago, and it held up well.
Yeah, it should work fine! Just keep in mind that you may want to tweak some settings down or use FSR for better performance. A GPU upgrade could be beneficial later, but it's still a solid rig overall.
Is this GPU really underperforming?
This setup should perform decently, but you might need to lower some settings for the latest AAA titles. It’s a good idea to check out some YouTube benchmarks for your specific card and the games you’re interested in.

I’m starting to doubt it now. When I compare the 5600X to an RTX 5060, I can see it aging. With heavier CPU-dependent games, my GPU isn't fully utilized. I think I'll need an upgrade for both CPU and GPU.
