Is a 600W Power Supply Enough for a 3090 Ti?

Hey everyone! I'm about to upgrade my GPU to a 3090 Ti, moving up from my current 1660 Ti, and I'm a bit concerned about my power supply. I'm using a 600W gold-rated PSU from a reputable brand, which has been great so far. I read some mixed opinions online, with some folks saying they managed fine with a lower wattage PSU like 600W for the 3080. Given my specs—Ryzen 7 3800X, 32GB DDR4, 2TB SSD, and 6 fans—do you think I can get away with not upgrading my power supply, or should I invest in a bigger one? Let me know what you think!

Yeah, I’d definitely say 850W is the bare minimum for a 3090 Ti. If you're really pushing things, you might want to look at a 1000W unit. The 3090 Ti can draw up to 450W, so when you calculate the power needs for your whole setup, including the CPU and other components, you'll want some headroom. You should be looking at about 730W at minimum, factoring in spikes and all.

Honestly, a 600W power supply just isn't going to cut it for a 3090 Ti. It's crucial to have enough wattage and proper connectors. I would recommend getting at least an 850W PSU, ideally even 1000W for safety. The 3090 Ti can have some serious power requirements due to transient spikes, and you don't want to risk damaging your components.
