Hey folks! I'm building a new rig with a Ryzen 5 5600X paired with an NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti. I've got an EVGA G3 650W 80+ Gold power supply. Do you think this PSU will handle my setup, especially if I want to do some occasional overclocking and add more components like SSDs and extra fans? Thanks for your input!

I think the 650W PSU should be okay for now, but keep in mind if you decide to upgrade your CPU in the future, you might want to upgrade the PSU too. Getting an 850W now will give you peace of mind for any future upgrades!

Exactly! I'm planning to upgrade to the 9800x3D next year, so I'll definitely be keeping my PSU wattage in check for more headroom.

It should be fine as long as you're not overclocking much. The power consumption for your entire system should be around 400W, so the 650W should be enough for regular use without extra performance tweaks.

Honestly, I don't think 650W is going to cut it. The minimum requirement is typically around 750W for that kind of setup, especially if you're planning to overclock. Better safe than sorry!

Yeah, I tried running a similar setup with just 650W for about two weeks, but it would shut down during heavy loads. It's not worth the risk in the long run.

If you're not pushing it too hard and keeping it stock, you'll probably be okay. But, if you're looking to really overclock or add more components later, consider upgrading.
