I just unboxed two new M.2 SSDs and noticed that both of them have a slight bow in the PCB. To make sure I wasn't imagining it, I placed them on a perfectly flat surface, and could see the bow clearly. Since these are my first M.2 drives, I'm wondering how common this is and if I should be worried? I've seen people mention bending after installation, which makes sense given how thin the PCB is. What puzzles me is why many heatsinks exert pressure from the component side without any support underneath. Is this typical for new M.2 SSDs, or should I be concerned about the bow?

Looks totally fine to me! I'd say just go ahead and install it first. You might find that it works perfectly fine despite the bend.
I get what you’re saying, but I really want to be sure if this bow could cause any problems once I start using it. I installed one already and noticed the bow when it was beside my flat motherboard. Just holding it, I didn’t notice anything odd until I compared it to something straight.
