I'm currently using an i7 6700 and an RTX 3070 Ti, and I'm considering buying a used Ryzen 7 2700X along with a curved 4K monitor and a new motherboard from someone. I want to know if upgrading to the 2700X is a significant improvement or if I should hold off and wait for a better option.

It really depends on how much you're being charged for the 2700X and what motherboard you're getting. If your motherboard supports it and you can get a 5600 instead, that would be a much better option since it outperforms both the 6700 and the 2700X. But at 4K, your 3070 will be the bottleneck anyway, so the 2700X should still work fine if you just want a solid upgrade for now.

Yeah, the 3070 Ti is the heart of my setup right now! I've got two monitors, and while one runs 4K decently, the other is just 1080p. I'm leaning towards getting that monitor and putting off the motherboard and CPU for now because I'm low on funds.
