I'm planning to build a PC with an i9-14900K processor and an RTX 5080 graphics card. According to PC part picker, my wattage estimate is around 750W, and I currently have an 850W MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 power supply (which is Gold certified). I want to know if this setup will be enough power-wise, especially considering possible power spikes, and I have no plans to overclock just yet.

Technically, yes, 850W can handle this setup, but why risk it? You've already invested a lot in your CPU and GPU. Spending a little extra on a 1000W PSU could save you from future headaches. Here's a good option: [link].
What kind of risk are we looking at here? Modern PSUs with good capacity should handle it, right?
Honestly, 850W is more than enough. Don’t let the panic talk get to you!
The i9-14900K and RTX 5080 can consume quite a bit of power, especially under load! It might be like expecting an athlete to perform at their peak for a marathon. It can be tough on the power supply!
It’s wild! Some say it’s fine while others think it’s underwhelming. I plan to stress test it after building, so if it crashes, I’ll upgrade ASAP.
I'd really suggest going for a 1000W PSU. It's a small investment for the peace of mind, and it'll give you room to upgrade in the future if necessary!
If you've got the 850W already, it’s doable, but ideally, a 1000W or even 1200W is safer. You could consider lowering power to both your CPU and GPU if you stick with your current PSU.
Yes, 850W should work. If you had a 5090, I'd be worried, but for now, you should be fine.

I get that, but I already have the 850W unit, and switching would mean buying another one. I'd go for 1000W if I didn’t have to buy again.
