I'm in the process of building a new PC and I'm considering the 9800X3D CPU. While searching for ideas, I noticed some pre-built systems come with water cooling setups like the beQuiet Silent Loop 3. However, I'm leaning towards using an air cooler, specifically the Dark Rock Pro 5. Would choosing this air cooler be a sensible option, or is water cooling a significantly better choice for this particular CPU?

Yeah, an air cooler is totally fine for the 9800X3D! It's not a super hot CPU. But I'd recommend looking into alternatives like the Peerless Assassin or the Phantom Spirit instead of the Dark Rock. They perform better for about a third of the price.
Thanks for the tip! I'll check out those options. I’ve been using Dark Rock Pros on my past builds, but they were on AM4.
