I'm putting together a new PC build and considering the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU. I'm thinking about using an air cooler, but I'm unsure if it will provide enough cooling for this processor. I don't have any experience beyond using air coolers, so I'm looking for advice on whether this setup will work well or if I should consider something else. I've found the Thermalright Peerless Assassin cooler that I'm considering purchasing.

The main thing to consider is how the heat is managed. If you have decent case fans in your Meshy 3, you'll be good to go with an air cooler.
I have the 7800X3D and don’t like water cooling, so I went with a Noctua NH-D15 in a Fractal Pop XL case. Under heavy load, my CPU and GPU hover around 62-65°C. The highest I've seen is 70°C, but that’s when the room was really warm. I'm curious how a mid-tower case would handle cooling though.
Absolutely! AMD CPUs are designed to be quite efficient, which helps keep them cool. Air coolers work really well, and honestly, liquid coolers are just kind of for show these days in a lot of cases.
I'm currently using a similar setup in a small form factor case and it's running perfectly fine! So, I think you'll be okay with your air cooler.
