Is an Intel i7 4790 with an RTX 3050 Low Profile a Solid Setup for Gaming?

I'm primarily using my computer for music production, but I've recently wanted to get into playing Final Fantasy XIV and the Final Fantasy VII remakes. I have an Optiplex 7020, which limits my upgrade options quite a bit. Given its restrictions, I'm considering pairing an Intel i7 4790 with an RTX 3050 Low Profile. I've also thought about upgrading to the unlocked 4790K and overclocking it for better performance, but is this combination worth it for gaming?

Honestly, I think you might be better off investing in a used PC instead of upgrading this one. There are tons of solid options around $300 that are much more upgradable. The RTX 3050 LP isn't the best value either — for what you'd spend on it, you could get a whole other PC that can handle larger, more powerful GPUs without so many bottlenecks.

I appreciate the insight! I'm not trying to break the bank here, and I value 1080p gaming at 60fps, which I feel should be doable with my current setup. Finding a used PC sounds tricky for someone new to building like me!
