Is Anyone Else Struggling with Driver Issues on Windows 11 24h2 ISO?

I'm curious if anyone else has noticed a significant reduction in driver support when using the Windows 11 24h2 ISO from the media creation tool. Personally, I've found that both my Dell (which is relatively new and designed for Windows 11) and an older Lenovo laptop with TPM2 aren't recognizing crucial drivers after a fresh install. For instance, multi-touch functionality on the trackpad is completely gone. In contrast, the previous 22h2 ISO worked just fine with it.

I also seem to have issues with chipset drivers and other essential features, and because the ISO doesn't even have placeholders, tools like Lenovo Vantage and Dell Support Assist can't perform updates properly. The Lenovo site lacks a standalone driver for the trackpad, meaning Lenovo devices installed with this ISO will also lack multi-touch. I'm baffled—what's going on here? Why were so many drivers omitted between these version updates?

You can also add the missing drivers manually using DISM. It’s not too complicated and allows you to inject any necessary drivers into your setup if they’re not already included.

Yeah, I’ve done that before. It saves a ton of hassle if you have specific drivers you know will be necessary for your devices.

You might want to download the OEM driver pack specific to your models. It should cover a lot of the missing drivers you’re facing after the fresh install. Just make sure you’re using the right pack for your devices!

It’s true that Microsoft is moving away from third-party drivers, which might be the issue with your touchpad needing Synaptics drivers. Have you looked into that? It seems they’re not included as commonly in the newer ISOs.

Have you tried using the Lenovo Commercial Vantage software? It can help download the proper drivers for your models without needing to update the whole OS image. Just set it up on a server and it’ll pull drivers as needed.
