Is Bazzite a Good Choice for Gaming on My PC?

Hey everyone! A little while ago, my cousin handed down his gaming PC to me while he upgraded to a higher-end setup. I'm primarily a Mac user and not a fan of Windows, but I've dabbled in Linux on some older machines. Now, I'm considering making the switch from Windows to Bazzite, and I'd love to know if my hardware will work with it. My specs include an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11600KF, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 with 12GB, and 16GB of RAM. I've read mixed reviews about NVIDIA support in Bazzite, so I thought I'd ask for your advice. Also, I play games that use anti-cheat systems but am open to dropping them for a better experience on Linux, since I'm more into story-driven games anyway. Can anyone explain how to use Proton for running games? I know it exists but not how to get games working with it. Thanks a lot for your help!

If you're looking for a Bazzite experience, I’d recommend using GNOME version because it's more akin to macOS. Personally, I've had great experiences with Pop!_OS as it’s similar to macOS but with some cool enhancements, like built-in window tiling. The current version is a bit outdated and the new one is in alpha though, so keep that in mind!

I've heard of Pop!_OS but don’t know much about it. Is it actually good for gaming?
