Is Bitdefender a good antivirus for Android?

Hey everyone! I've been having some issues with my phone lately. I stumbled upon a sketchy pop-up site while browsing and, although I closed it immediately, my phone has been experiencing strange battery drain since then. I ran a couple of McAfee scans as per my mobile carrier's suggestion, but the battery drain just doesn't seem to add up based on what my settings show. I've been advised to try Bitdefender's mobile version. Is it worth using? Oh, and I just installed a software update too. Thanks for any advice!

Honestly, antivirus on Android isn’t all that effective. The system's built-in security is pretty robust, and most malware can’t really get past the sandboxing. The chance of encountering significant threats is lower, which makes external antivirus apps kinda redundant for many users.

I’d argue that no antivirus, whether it's for iOS or Android, is truly useless. They can provide some extra layers of protection, but the sandboxing limits how dangerous most apps can be. However, if you’re dealing with specific issues, like battery drain, exploring extra options like Bitdefender could help you troubleshoot and feel more secure.
