Is Building a PC a Good Idea?

I'm thinking about building a PC and have picked some parts out on PCPartPicker. However, I'm not very familiar with what all the specifications mean. Could someone help me figure out if any of my choices are considered overkill? I'm trying to stick to a budget, but I'm open to spending a little more if necessary. My primary interest isn't in playing heavily modded games like city builders or Minecraft, so I'm curious about what you all think! Here's my current parts list: [PCPartPicker Part List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/W3RxXR)

I recommend going for a B650 or B650M motherboard instead. Also, you're spending a lot on Windows—a cheaper or even free version is out there. With those savings, you could upgrade to a better GPU like the 5070 or 9070. Plus, consider getting RAM with 6000MHz speed; it's much better than what's listed!

I'm new to this, so what's the difference between the motherboards?
