I'm in the process of building my first PC after my laptop unexpectedly died. I'm looking at a used G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5-5600 CL30 RAM kit for $300 (I initially offered $250). This kit has 64GB (2x32), which seems like a solid deal compared to the current price of DDR5-6000 CL30. I'm using a Ryzen 9 9950X3D with an MSI MAG X870E Tomahawk WiFi motherboard and planning for a GeForce RTX 5070Ti graphics card. Should I go for this used RAM? What do others think?

RAM doesn’t really expire, so it looks like a good deal for you! You're getting 64GB for $300, which is a steal right now. The faster cache on your X3D processor should help offset the slight performance dip from the slower RAM. I'd say go for it!
Absolutely, I'd snag that RAM! Considering how much prices have skyrocketed, $300 for a 64GB kit is excellent. Just remember that while RAM can fail, the risk is pretty much the same whether it's new or used. It's just a matter of luck!

Thanks! Just to clarify, the listing says it's Intel XMP 3.0 ready. That should work fine with my Ryzen setup if I enable A-XMP in the BIOS, right?
