I recently got a good deal on a PC featuring a 9070 XT, 7500X3D, and a 2TB SSD NVMe. It was advertised with 32GB of 6000MHz RAM, but when I checked using CPU-Z, I discovered that the RAM actually has a CL (CAS latency) of 48, which is higher than I expected. I've started playing some games, and overall, the performance seems decent. However, I've heard that higher CAS latency means slower performance, and that the latency of 16 nanoseconds isn't ideal. On the other hand, I've read that RAM speed might not be as critical with the X3D CPU. So I'm wondering just how much of an impact this CL48 RAM is going to have on gaming performance?

Look, it's all about how your system runs in practice. If you’re feeling smooth gameplay, then CL48 isn’t going to ruin your experience. There will always be someone chasing the latest and greatest, but at the end of the day, enjoy your new rig!
While CL48 is slower than CL30, in practical terms, the difference is often negligible during actual gameplay. A nanosecond here or there will hardly be noticeable unless you’re benchmarking specifically. Since you have an X3D CPU, it’s less sensitive to RAM timings anyway. You might notice a minimal difference in some benchmarks, but for gaming, you’ll likely be just fine!
Exactly! It really comes down to your experience playing games.
The reality is that many things can affect gaming performance, and RAM speed isn’t necessarily the biggest factor. With your X3D chip, it should handle the gaming load just fine despite the higher CAS latency. You might not be winning any benchmark competitions, but as long as your system feels responsive, enjoy it!
Preach! Sometimes we focus too much on specs instead of just having fun.
Totally! Just play what you love and enjoy your system as is.
Considering RAM availability and pricing right now, you got a good deal. Many people are running fine with kits that have less fancy specs. If you’re having fun with your games, it's not worth stressing about!
Appreciate it! I guess I'll just focus on gaming.
Exactly! Gaming is what it's all about.
Honestly, it's not a huge deal. While CL48 is definitely higher than typical, especially compared to CL30 or CL40, your gaming experience seems fine so far. With RAM prices these days, it might not be worth stressing over. If you're getting solid frame rates and enjoying your games, just keep playing!

Thanks for the reassurance! I wasn't sure if I should be worried about the RAM or not.
