Has anyone had experiences with Claude's Research tool? I'm curious about how it compares to its competitors. I get the impression that it might not be the best fit for academic or highly technical work, but I could be mistaken. Thoughts?

I really prefer tools that stick to peer-reviewed sources. I'd love something that searches reputable databases like JSTOR or ProQuest instead of the unreliable stuff you often find on Google Scholar. It’s frustrating to sift through so much poor-quality research.

That's a big issue; many quality sources aren't publicly accessible. Deep Research could be great, especially if it could rely more on open-access papers.

I recently compared Claude's Research tool with GPT for a legal topic, and both returned correct answers. However, I found Claude's response was a bit clearer in writing. I've been using Claude for a few months alongside GPT and Gemini, and lately, it feels like Claude is not as reliable as it used to be, which is pushing me to explore other options. When it’s on point, Claude shines, but the inconsistency is frustrating.

Did you notice any big differences in the sources they cited? For me, Gemini clearly pulls from a wider range of sites.

Both still have issues with hallucinating facts in my legal work. I switched to ChatGPT plus mainly because it's faster. Claude often takes longer to generate responses.

I've mostly leaned on Google and OpenAI Deep Research, but I'm curious about using Claude Projects to enhance my research prompts. There's a neat process I found that supposedly helps maximize the output from Deep Research. Maybe that could be worth a try?

I found that the o3 feature in ChatGPT works as a lightweight substitute for Deep Research. It’s neat how it uses web searches to correct itself.
