Hey everyone! I'm studying for the AZ-104 exam but hit a snag with Entra ID's features like Conditional Access and group-based app assignments, which require a Premium license. Currently, I'm on the free tier and can't upgrade. My question is: do I need to actually use these Premium features to pass the exam, or is it enough to just understand how they function? Will the exam have questions that expect hands-on experience with these tools? I'd love insights from anyone who's passed the exam using only the free tier—how did you tackle the labs for Premium features? Thanks in advance!

While you could succeed based on theory, I highly recommend getting some hands-on experience. You can sign up for a Microsoft Developer tenant which gives you free access to M365 E5 licenses. This way, you can experiment with whatever you want without any costs involved!
As far as I know, the AZ-104 exam doesn't include any hands-on labs—it's mostly multiple-choice questions. But it's always good to know how to apply theoretical knowledge practically. If you want to reinforce what you learn, consider practicing in a free environment or sandbox!
You can definitely pass the AZ-104 without ever logging into Azure. While having access to the platform helps you follow along, it’s not a strict requirement. Many have managed to pass using theoretical knowledge alone. Just make sure you understand the concepts behind the features!
I tried signing up but ran into a captcha that wouldn’t let me through. I’ve attempted it several times, but it keeps switching up the images!
