I'm considering switching to Fedora KDE after previously trying out Kubuntu. I love customizing my desktop with KDE, but my last experience was frustrating as I faced some lag and frequent Wi-Fi disconnections. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to troubleshoot those issues. Now that I have a bit more time, I'm looking for a stable Linux distribution that meets the following criteria:
- I want to use KDE.
- It should be more up-to-date than Kubuntu but still stable enough to avoid needing a complete reinstallation with every update.
- I'm fine with using the terminal for setup but prefer a GUI for daily tasks.
- Good support forums are essential.
My laptop is an Asus TUF F15 with a GTX 3060, and I want to make sure I'm making the right choice this time around!

It's hard to say for sure, as it really depends on your specific needs. I suggest trying a few different distros on your laptop to see which one works best for you. I’ve been using Ubuntu for over 20 years because it just clicks with my hardware, but I’ve dabbled in others like Fedora and Kubuntu. Each laptop can behave differently with various distributions, so testing is key! And about the re-setup issue, I think it really comes down to personal preference on how much you’re willing to customize after updates. Also, most major distros have solid support forums, so you'll find help out there!
You should give Fedora KDE a shot! It’s generally a solid choice with most things working out of the box. Just remember, troubleshooting can be part of the deal on any OS sometimes. If you’re familiar with fixing small issues, that will definitely help you out. I’d say the main ‘con’ is manually installing Nvidia drivers, but it’s nothing too complicated.

Yeah, blocking certain packages from updating is an option if you run into issues. Just stay on top of your backups!
