I've recently been informed that my boss wants to revoke VPN access for employees who are traveling to China. He believes it's a safety measure against potential viruses or breaches. I feel that this could cause more problems than it solves. Am I wrong to think that?

It’s actually pretty standard to block VPN access from high-risk countries like China. Many companies have policies in place for this because of the significant cyber threats. It’s a proactive security measure, not just a reaction to viruses. If there’s no need for employees to connect from there, it makes sense to restrict it.

Yeah, it might sound extreme, but considering what’s at stake, it’s really just good business practice.
