I have an all-in-one Apple desktop that I primarily use for watching DVDs, and I'm thinking about installing Linux on it since I'm not a fan of Apple. I'm curious to know if this switch is practical for my needs and what potential issues I might face. Any advice would be appreciated!

Consider doing a live boot from a USB drive to give Linux a spin without fully installing it. That way, you can see if you like how it runs on your system before making any changes!
It really depends on the specs of your computer. If you have an Intel processor, you're in luck! I use a MacBook Air with an Intel i5 and installed Debian without any major issues. Just had to tweak a little for the WiFi, but it runs smoothly. If you're not sure about the specs, definitely check them out first!
Honestly, if your main use is just watching DVDs, it might not be worth the hassle of shifting to Linux. Getting the right drivers for your DVD player and finding a suitable app could be more trouble than it’s worth. If it does the job now, why complicate things?
