I'm thinking about upgrading my desktop's RAM. Currently, I have 16 GB of DDR4 RAM running at 2133 MT/s, but I also have an old gaming laptop with 32 GB of DDR4 RAM at 2667 MT/s. I'm considering buying two laptop RAM converters for about $30 each. I know RAM speed is generally determined by the slowest stick, but since my current RAM is slower, would using the faster laptop RAM be a bad idea? Would it be worth a shot?

Using RAM converters is becoming more popular these days, and I think it could be a decent option for you. Just make sure to check your motherboard and CPU compatibility, as you may need to swap out your current RAM entirely for the best results. Mixing RAM speeds can lead to stability issues, especially with four sticks in use. So, just be cautious!
