I'm trying to decide between building my own gaming PC or going for a pre-built option. I found a custom build that costs about $2757.26, featuring components like an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X CPU, an RTX 5080 GPU, and 32GB of DDR5 RAM. On the other hand, there's a pre-built model available for $2327.49 with an RTX 5070 Ti and an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D. I'm planning to do some streaming and play games like World of Warcraft and Apex Legends. Given these options, which route should I go?

Just get the pre-built, it makes the most sense if you're looking to start gaming right away. You won’t have to deal with the time and learning curve of building your own. You might want to consider upgrading the cooling if it comes with a 240mm radiator instead of a 360.
If you're not going for 4K gaming, a cheaper setup with a 5070 Ti and an X3D CPU would actually serve you better. You probably don't need a 1000W power supply either. Aim for a B850 motherboard under $200 and a more budget-friendly AIO cooler for around $50.
It seems like the pre-built option would be more beneficial here. The 5070 Ti is already overkill for playing WoW and Apex, and you could upgrade to an RTX 5080 later if you really want the extra performance. Plus, the pre-built saves you some hassle.
Right? The 5070 Ti should handle those games just fine without needing to max out everything.
If you're interested in optimizing even more, consider reselling the 5070 Ti for an 5080 after you get the pre-built.

That could definitely improve thermal performance. A 360 rad would be nice if you plan to push your system hard.
