Hey everyone! I recently got a MSI Shadow 3X RTX 5070Ti, but honestly, it's pretty loud and tends to heat up a lot. I've limited the FPS which has helped a bit, but I'm worried that this lower-end model might fail on me or even become a fire hazard in the future. I noticed there are some RX 9070XT and RX 9070 models in my area that are actually cheaper than the RTX 5070Ti (around $20 to $80 for the XT, and about $150 for the non-XT). I'm looking at high and mid-range models from brands like Sapphire Pulse, Nitro, XFX, and Asus. I'm torn between keeping my entry-level RTX 5070Ti or returning it for a possibly more reliable high/mid-range RX 9070 series, since I prefer a quieter and cooler GPU. I've had a Gigabyte RX 6600 before that was super silent. With some tweaks like adjusting the fan curve and undervolting the RTX, I could improve its performance, but I'm not sure if that's enough for long-term use. DLSS works great with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, but the noise and heat are big concerns. I haven't tried 3D modeling or CUDA yet. Would you recommend sticking with the RTX, or switching to the RX 9070 models?

I'd definitely go for the cheaper RX 9070XT! You get similar performance for less cash, and just make sure you stay away from the 12-pin versions away from the box.
The RX 9070XT sounds like a nice pick if the price difference isn’t huge! Just because it’s high-end doesn’t mean it’s really worth it—all about finding that balance between cost and performance.
Honestly, if the RX 9070 is cheaper and has more RAM, just go for that. It should serve you well and not cook like your current card.
I'd suggest going for the cheapest RX 9070XT. If you're not into extreme overclocking, you could save a lot without sacrificing performance since most cards in the same family perform similarly.
If they're priced similarly, the RTX 5070Ti is a solid choice, especially if you undervolt it and adjust the fan settings to cut down on noise. However, I'd lean towards a cheaper RX 9070 or even a non-XT version if you're after quieter operations and savings.
I agree, the non-XT RX 9070 is a sweet spot! Lower heat and noise makes it great for long sessions.
