I've recently switched to Bazzite, which is supposed to make gaming easier with features like Steam game mode, but I'm having trouble getting my Xbox Elite 2 paddle to work over Bluetooth. They work just fine when wired. In comparison, my paddles connected without any issue on Fedora Kinoite via Bluetooth. However, I've found managing an immutable OS like Kinoite a bit tedious. I'm contemplating going back to standard Fedora with KDE. Is it generally a good idea to stick with the source distro rather than using a descendant or forked version?

It's not always better to use a standard distro, but it often is. Forked or descendant distros come with extra features that can be useful, but they might also add bloat if you don't need them. For your situation, moving back to standard Fedora seems like a good choice since it worked better for your controller.
