Is It Difficult to Land a Job in Computer Science with a Degree?

I'm curious about the current job market for computer science graduates. I used to work as a programmer from 2017 to 2020, but then switched career paths for personal reasons. Now, my boyfriend is finishing his associate's degree in computer science and moving on to his bachelor's. I've heard from friends that getting a job in this field has become quite tough, even with a degree. As someone who also works at a medical college, I'm hearing applicants mention similar concerns when they switch careers. I don't want to discourage him with all this negative talk. Is the job market really that saturated, or are people just not trying hard enough to get hired?

Honestly, the most important factor is whether your boyfriend is genuinely interested in computer science. If he loves it, getting a job will be much easier since he'll be more motivated during the application process. IT might seem like an easy field to enter, but it's actually tough work—lots of problem-solving involved. Those who jump in just for the paycheck often find it overwhelming and leave the profession. If he’s passionate, the benefits and pay will make it worth it!

Totally agree! It's all about loving what you do. If you're passionate, the challenges can turn into rewarding experiences.
