Is It Easy to Switch to Linux for Gaming and Remote Work?

I've been considering migrating to Linux as my primary operating system because I'm not fond of Microsoft's recent push towards using non-local accounts and it feels like their software has become a bit of a resource hog. I know my way around Linux since I've used it in a VM before, but I'm curious about making it my main OS. My main use is gaming, but I also need reliable remote access to my work computer for emergencies after hours. In the past, I've found Linux to have mixed results with Wi-Fi drivers, and I currently can't use a wired connection. Most of my games come from Steam or through emulation, so I'm not too worried about compatibility. I'm thinking of going with Pop!_OS or Linux Mint, but I'd love to hear about any potential issues based on my situation or whether there are better distros I should consider. Here's my hardware: MSI MAG X670E Tomahawk Wi-Fi, AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 6600, Logitech G613 wireless keyboard, and Logitech G502 wireless mouse. I also need to access Horizon View, RDP, and GlobalProtect for work.

One option is to boot a live USB and test it out first. That way, you can see how everything functions with your hardware before committing to a full install. If you run into problems, you’ll have the option to go back to Windows.

Yeah, and if you really want to play it safe, consider a dual-boot setup. That way if anything goes wrong, you still have Windows to fall back on.
